Emma Frans will be this year's keynote speaker at the digital sustainability week Act Sustainable. Emma Frans has a multifaceted background as a researcher, author, expert in TV and radio and not least a Twitter celebrity. At Act Sustainable, she will talk about filter bubbles and fake news and how we ca go about to debunk alleged truths. Act Sustainable is between November 16-20 and you can see Emma Frans on Thursday November 19.
We are now happy to present Emma Frans as this year's keynote speaker at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg's digital sustainability week Act Sustainable. Emma Frans has an academic background as a Doctor of Medical Epidemiology and a researcher at Karolinska Institutet and the University of Oxford. But for many, she is probably best known as a science journalist, author, debater and twitterer. As a popular educator she has succeeded with the feat of making research not only understandable but also interesting, relevant and fun for a wide audience. Among other things, Emma has been awarded the Grand Journalist Prize for her pedagogical ability to convey research and science.
At Act Sustainable 2020, Emma Frans will share her knowledge on one of her special areas: filter bubbles and fake news. We will learn how to identify filter bubbles and fake news, and above all how to evaluate the information around us and how it affects society.
This year’s edition of Act Sustainable is arranged digitally on November 16-20, you can see Emma Frans on November 19. The week is aimed at students, researchers, teachers and other staff at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg.
