Acting for sustainability through knowledge and collaboration

The core task of Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) is to create and facilitate cooperation, between and within Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, with an aim to generate and practically implement knowledge about sustainable development. In order to develop solutions to global challenges, we bring academic disciplines together to create new knowledge. Moreover, practical implementation of knowledge requires collaboration between academia and other actors in society. To this end, we create meeting places and bring together different types of expertise in order to promote sustainable development within research, education and cooperation.

  • Review the upcoming IPPC report

    [3 Mar 2021] The International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) . At the moment, a large group of experts from all over the world review the draft to the Sixth Assessment Report to ensure that the reports really cover new and the most relevant research in the wide range of areas.

  • Nominate your student sustainability heroes

    [1 Mar 2021] Do you know about an amazing student at Chalmers University of Technology or the University of Gothenburg who are taking action for sustainable development? Maybe running an organisation, creating content online, working for a cool start-up or an activist? Or are you a hidden sustainability hero? We are looking for students who are taking the lead for a more sustainable world to be featured in the campaign #StudentsOfGBG - nominate your student sustainability hero!

  • Meet the University of Gothenburg Student Unions Sustainability Network!

    [17 Feb 2021] GUS Sustainability network is a newly launched initiative by GUS (University of Gothenburg Student Unions) with the aim to gather students who want to influence the organizations¿ sustainability work. The network consists of students from several disciplines and acts as an advising body to GUS. We talked with the members of the network to hear more about their upcoming plans and hopes.
