Acting for sustainability through knowledge and collaboration

The core task of Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) is to create and facilitate cooperation, between and within Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, with an aim to generate and practically implement knowledge about sustainable development. In order to develop solutions to global challenges, we bring academic disciplines together to create new knowledge. Moreover, practical implementation of knowledge requires collaboration between academia and other actors in society. To this end, we create meeting places and bring together different types of expertise in order to promote sustainable development within research, education and cooperation.

  • Magdalena Eriksson Platform Leader for Global Sustainable Futures

    [29 Sep 2020] The objective of Global Sustainable Futures is to develop and facilitate collaboration between University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and universities in Low- and Middle-Income Countries and at the same time contribute to the realization of Agenda 2030. Both universities already have extensive collaboration in Africa, Asia and South America. Global Sustainable Futures aims to contribute to increased synergies and new co-operation in research and education. The work is carried out within Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV).

  • Emma Frans på Act Sustainable 2020

    [11 Sep 2020] Emma Frans will be this year's keynote speaker at the digital sustainability week Act Sustainable. Emma Frans has a multifaceted background as a researcher, author, expert in TV and radio and not least a Twitter celebrity. At Act Sustainable, she will talk about filter bubbles and fake news and how we ca go about to debunk alleged truths. Act Sustainable is between November 16-20 and you can see Emma Frans on Thursday November 19.

  • Apply for the Renova environmental scholarship 2020 by the latest 31 August

    [18 Aug 2020] Renova donates a scholarship worth SEK 100,000 to PhD students and young researchers at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg who are working in environmental research relevant to Renova's operations. Apply no later than 31 August 2020.
