The core task of Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) is to create and facilitate cooperation, between and within Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, with an aim to generate and practically implement knowledge about sustainable development. In order to develop solutions to global challenges, we bring academic disciplines together to create new knowledge. Moreover, practical implementation of knowledge requires collaboration between academia and other actors in society. To this end, we create meeting places and bring together different types of expertise in order to promote sustainable development within research, education and cooperation.
[26 Aug 2021] Registrations for side-events during the sustainability week Act Sustainable are open. The week will take place on November 15 - November 19 here in Gothenburg. A side-event can take place any where and at any time during the week. The deadline for registration is November 1.
[26 Aug 2021] Researchers and/or students at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers have the possibility to register to be nominated for accreditation at COP 26 in Glasgow 31st of October to 12th of November 2021.
[1 Jul 2021] Netflix´s documentary Seaspiracy shocked the public on its release earlier this year. It brought attention to the devastating environmental and social impacts of industrial overfishing. On May 25th a panel of scientific experts gathered and discussed the documentary live, providing an informed commentary and more clarity on some of the critical issues that Seaspiracy brought to the surface.
