SEAASIA Problem Based Learning workshop

On the 26th of October, 2nd of November and 3rd of November the Aalborg University arranged three interactive PBL webinars for partners in Bangladesh, Lao PDR and Vietnam. The Aalborg University has over 15 years of experience of using the PBL method as a learning tool. The workshop was attended by around 2-5 participants per university. The interactive webinar encouraged partner universities to discuss and reflect on the PBL method can be used in their own universities as a tool for learning. This was the first events in a series of activities during the SEAASIA programme for building capacity at the universities on problem based learning and relevant tools. Due to the Corona pandemic some of the planned training activities have been postponed. The one week PBL training at Aalborg University, Denmark is planned for during 2021. SEAASIA Stakeholder interaction workshop

Picture from workshopOn the 7th of October, UGOT arranged an online workshop on Stakeholder Interaction for the SEAASIA consortium. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness and increase capacity among consortium members on the rationale for Research-Policy/Stakeholder-interaction, what it is, some models for it and how one can do it. The workshop was attended by around 20 participants from programme and partner universities. It was an interactive workshop with group work where participants were encouraged to share experiences in the field of Stakeholder interaction; what works, and what constrains it. The Stakeholder interaction workshop was facilitated by Dr Anders Ekbom, UGOT. UGOT has written a guide for Research-Policy/Stakeholder-interaction.


 

Revised work plan for 2020 due to the corona pandemic

Due to the corona pandemic SEAASIA a new work plan was agreed between all nine universities on a meeting on the 29th of April 2020.

New and revised activities include:
• No travelling during 2020.
• Three webinars to be held during the upcoming months: SEA (links to WP2-5); Research Policy Interaction (WP4); Problem Based Learning (WP 5)
• Mentors meetings online (joint mentorship UGOT, Ulisboa and AAU) –Bangladesh: JU and HSTU together with UGOT/Ulisboa and AAU; Laos: NUoL and SKU together with UGOT/Ulisboa and AAU; Vietnam: TLU and HCMUNRE together with UGOT/Ulisboa and AAU
• Annual and Steering committee meeting 2020 to be held online in December.


 

Results of the SEAASIA 2019-2022 baseline survey

The development of the SEAASIA programme is highly dependent on each university’s specific needs and capacities. During March – April 2020 a baseline survey was conducted with the purpose to collect information about the current SEA status (linked to Work package (WP) 2, 3, 4 and 5) of each university.

The results from the baseline survey will be used as a point of departure when developing the programme to meet the needs of the participants. The overall results of the Erasmus+ SEA ASIA programme 2019-2022 has been developed by the University of Lisbon.


 

SEAASIA kick off meeting online

On 27th – 28th of February 2020 around 20 participants from nine universities gathered online for a kick off meeting for the Erasmus+ SEAASIA 2019-2022 programme.

The meeting was planned to be held in Hanoi with Thuyloi University as host. Due to the corona pandemic the meeting was cancelled and arranged online instead. Thuyloi University and University of Gothenburg jointly hosting the meeting. The purpose was to enhance internal understanding about our SEAASIA programme and to strengthen our consortium network.

- Even though we were disappointed that we could not meet as planned during one week in Hanoi, we found the meeting successful and we are looking forward to start working together. One of the first activities to be carried out is a baseline study that will be used as a point of departure when developing the programme to meet the needs of the participants, says Emelie César and Anders Ekbom.
