Goal 4 is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Education is a fundamental human right. Even so, it is estimated that 250 million children still cannot read or write when they begin grade four. Some 774 million people around the world are illiterate, two thirds of whom are women.

Teacher Training Series on Agenda 2030
Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development´s teacher training series aims at providing teachers with inspiration and the tools they need to teach schoolchildren about the Global Goals. Researchers from
Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg give inspiring talks on their research and staff from Universeum and the Museum of World Culture conduct workshops related to the goals.

Forum for Sustainability and Sustainable Development in Higher Education
Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) have been organizing a series of discussion forums. The forums are aimed at creating a platform for students, staff and community at University of Gothenburg and Chalmers to come together and have a dialogue, share experiences and come up with strategies on how to systematically work and integrate sustainability and sustainable development into educational, research and other practices within the university and the society at large. Each forum focuses on specific theme.
