Easier to find researchers with knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals

News: Mar 25, 2021

This week, a new version of the membership database for the Research Network for Sustainable Development was launched, where one can search for researchers who contribute with knowledge to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG:s). The database also includes information about international research collaboration.

The Research Network for Sustainable Development at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg is a multidisciplinary network that brings together more than 670 researchers interested in sustainability from the two universities. The network is coordinated by Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV), and its members are searchable in the open database www.gmvnatverk.se. This week a new version of the database was launched in which members can add which of the Sustainable Development Goals that their research contributes to, and which regions and countries in the world they collaborate with.

An important reason to why the database is updated is because of the newly initiated platform Global Sustainable Futures (GSF) at GMV. GSF facilitates the advancement of science-based knowledge towards achieving Agenda 2030, and sustainability challenges beyond 2030, through collaboration with partners in low- and middle-income countries. You can already find researchers involved in GSF in the database, but more are on the way.

- Another purpose with this development is to make it easier to find researchers with certain knowledge about one or more of the SDG:s. I hope that this can contribute to new collaborations where different competences are needed, says Network Manager Caroline Petersson, Project Leader at GMV.
So far only a few members have updated their information in the database. As a member you can easily update your information yourself.
