More opportunities for researchers from different disciplines to meet

News: Oct 03, 2019

Recently, Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV) has strengthened the resources for the Research Network for Sustainable Development at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg, by employing a manager for the network, Caroline Petersson.

Caroline PeterssonCaroline Petersson has been working as a project leader at GMV since 2017, and she is excited about her new role.
- This means that we are now able to initiate and support more activities that bring sustainability oriented researchers from different disciplines together. Moreover I am very interested in research utilization and how we can strengthen the capacity of researchers to impact public opinion, policy and societal change. The most important part of my work right now, however, is to listen and learn from current and potential members, in order to identify and tap into needs and wishes from them, says Caroline.

In December, GMV will invite all network members to a network meeting, where participants will have the possibility to comment on current activites and share their own ideas of how to develop the network.
- There is an urgent need for researchers from many different disciplines to come together with their various perspectives on sustainable development. We have complementary knowledge and capacities and by bringing our forces together we are able to make a difference, says Jan Pettersson, Director of GMV.

Welcome to join the network
Around 500 researchers and PhD students are part of the Research Network for Sustainable Development at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg administrated by GMV. The network’s members represent a wide range of disciplines and a total of about 40 different university departments. Researchers and PhD students at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg are welcome to join the network.
