Anders Ekbom

Anders Ekbom is Deputy Director of Gothenburg Centre for Environment and Sustainability (GMV) and Team leader of GMV’s Environmental Economics and Policy Group.

He holds a PhD in Economics (focus: Environmental Economics) from Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg. He is Project Manager for the Forest Climate Livelihoods research network (www.focali.se) and Head/Team leader of Sida’s Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change.

He teaches environmental economics and Strategic Environmental Assessment at PhD and MSc level. He is also technical advisor and member of OECD’s Task team on Green Growth and Poverty Reduction, and member of EfD’s Scientific Review Committee. He has published articles in books and peer reviewed journals and worked as environmental economist at the World Bank’s Africa Department, Environment Group.
Anders Ekbom has more than 20 years of professional experience of the science-policy interface with several commissions from Sida, OECD, the EU, the World Bank, and UN organisations. His research pertains to the economics of agriculture and land use, forest governance, climate change and Strategic Environmental Assessment of policy and sector reforms.
