  • Magdalena Eriksson Platform Leader for Global Sustainable Futures

    [29 Sep 2020] The objective of Global Sustainable Futures is to develop and facilitate collaboration between University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and universities in Low- and Middle-Income Countries and at the same time contribute to the realization of Agenda 2030. Both universities already have extensive collaboration in Africa, Asia and South America. Global Sustainable Futures aims to contribute to increased synergies and new co-operation in research and education. The work is carried out within Gothenburg Centre for Sustainable Development (GMV).

  • IT Improves Well-Being in Uganda

    [23 Jun 2020] Every day, more than 800 women die of causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. The vast majority of them, 94% in 2017, are in low- and lower middle-income countries. Most of these deaths are preventable. (1) Improving maternal health care is a global priority explains Hawa Nyende at University of Gothenburg, who presented her work at the third GSF webinar, on 16 June 2020. The webinar focused on IT for innovation and job creation in low- and middle-income countries.
