In 2022, Global Sustainable Futures made progress on several fronts.
Most notably, collaboration between Chalmers and East African partner universities, SWEAFUN, advanced remarkably, especially during a workshop in Kigali, Rwanda with agreements resulting at both leadership and research levels.
Other international events, hosted or co-hosted by GSF, include a research conference on the theme of sustainability in the perspective of democracy and polarization, a conference around SDG8 and a series of webinars around topical subjects. Locally in Gothenburg, GSF started to reach out to a young audience, inspiring and informing about student opportunities in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and arranged round-table discussions on topics of common interest.
In the wake of the covid-19 pandemic direct meetings became possible, enabling more community exchange and visibility in 2022. In 2023, we look forward to supporting collaboration on a broader front in response to needs and opportunities regarding LMIC exchange for a sustainable future.
On behalf of the GSF team, I wish you happy reading and look forward to hearing from you in 2023.
