Urban Futures is a platform working within the field of sustainable urban development, one of the most important societal challenges today. All projects within Urban Futures are run jointly by researchers and practitioners with the aim to realising fair, green and accessible cities.
Who we are
The centre is run by a strong partnership of eight partners, well represented both by academia and practitioners: Chalmers University of Technology, The University of Gothenburg, the City of Gothenburg, The County Administration Board of Västra Götaland, The Västra Götaland Region (VGR), the Gothenburg Region (GR) and IVL Environmental Institute of Research, and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
Collaboration and transdiscplinary approach
All Centre activities aim at promoting collaboration and knowledge production with research and practitioners to realise fair, green and accessible cities. Through long-term co-operation and engagement in the Centre, the partners take a joint responsibility to meet the societal challenges our cities and regions are facing. The Centre works with a transdisciplinary approach and co-production of knowledge, offering an environment where theory and practice can meet. The aim is to share information about ongoing planning processes and research, to strengthen collaboration and to develop ideas for new projects.
