Call for abstracts: Collaboration in a (post-) pandemic world - the need to reconnect and rethink priorities

Konferens

Welcome to Global Sustainable Futures online conference 2021, 9-12 CET on November 16 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had tremendous impact on society. Universities have responded in different ways depending on their contexts. Teaching methods, research projects and research priorities have been affected. Looking ahead we need to reconnect and to a varying degree we might have to rethink our priorities. This is a conversation we want to have in the upcoming conference.

Global Sustainable Futures (GSF) is a joint collaboration platform at Chalmers University of Technology and University of Gothenburg with a mandate to promote, develop and strengthen collaboration between the two universities and partners in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This second annual GSF conference is a great opportunity to present ongoing research and teaching projects contributing to attaining Agenda 2030, to learn, network and meet people from Gothenburg and partners from across the globe.

We invite researchers and teachers at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg and their partners in low- and middle-income countries to present abstracts, discuss and share experiences of university collaborations. Presentations need not to focus on impacts of the pandemic, rather, we will ask participants to reflect on how the pandemic affects their work and future priorities, if at all.

For GSF, an online conference is not a second-best option; it is a way to ensure more direct contributions and contacts with university partners, teachers and researchers from across the globe.

Conference objectives
Present and discuss findings from research and teaching projects to learn, inspire and develop more collaboration between disciplines and universities as well as across geographical boundaries.

Target audiences
We welcome contributions from researchers and teachers at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg with an interest in and/or ongoing collaboration with low and middle-income countries, and, partners in low and middle-income countries working with Chalmers and/or University of Gothenburg (universities, civil society organisations, government agencies etc).

Participation is also open to students and anyone interested in Agenda 2030 and sustainability efforts beyond 2030 and collaboration with low and middle-income countries.

Programme
The conference includes an introduction by Magdalena Eriksson, platform leader Global Sustainable Futures, keynote presentations and four parallel sessions.
